Cooking Camp 2018

Serves 6-8

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion
  • ¼ cup parsley or oregano
  • 1 bottle Newman's roasted garlic marinara
  • Pkg 8 buns
  • Salt/pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic

Directions

  1. Brown turkey medium heat with olive oil, parsley or oregano, add pepper and garlic
  2. Add remaining ingredients, simmer 5 minutes low heat
  3. Serve on buns with chips

Apple Strudel

  • Prep Time 15 minutes
  • Total Time 45 minutes
  • Serves 8

Ingredients

  • 5 large diced apples (Granny Smith or preferred)
  • 1/3 cup regular sugar
  • ¼ cup graham crackers
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 8 sheets frozen phyllo dough thawed
  • Butter flavored cooking spray or cool/softened butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375, coat baking sheet with spray, butter or parchment
  2. Mix diced apples, sugar, crackers, vanilla and cinnamon; let rest
  3. Lay 1 sheet phyllo on waxed or parchment paper, brush or spray with butter, continue layering/spraying till 5-6 layers stacked, cut to desired number of size/shapes
  4. Spoon filling into center of phyllo, taking up middle third of sheet
  5. Butter all 4 sides of phyllo, fold left and right thirds over middle, seal edges with butter
  6. Bake 40 minutes or until golden
