Adult Classes

Adult Co-Ed "Hands-On" 2011 Classes


We offer an array of programs for adults, from the quick and easy meals to gourmet. Time to time we will have special guests presenting. You can choose one class or all. Recipe clubs welcome. It's sure to be a culinary experience you'll never forget! ( 24 hr notice is required prior to class for a cancellation refund). These classes are only open to students 18 and over.

The most basic of ingredients yet of the utmost importance for any kitchen.  Stocks are the foundation of any and all cooking and are used in every type of cuisine.  Soups are fundamental and allow for the greatest use of ingredients and individual preference. We will cover the Methodology of stocks, as well as sample or make the following soups:

Potato – Leek Puree

Chicken Vegetable

 Tomato bisque.

The mother of all cooking.  Explore the history and foundation that brought cooking from the middle ages to the modern era we enjoy today.  Discuss the bistro, brasserie and the fine dining a la carte menus that are todays main stay in restaurant dining. The following dishes will be made in class:

This 4 week series addresses the needs of today’s busy families and incorporates both nutrition information provided by a registered dietitian and hands on food preparation.

Quick and Easy Meals – Do you work all day and rush home only to have to take the kids to their after school activities? Wouldn’t you love to be able to throw together a meal that does not come from a box? This class will show you how you can make a meal in a flash that is nutritious and tasty.
Portion Control – Portion sizes have subtly and steadily grown larger. Sometimes it is not only what we are eating, but how much. We will assist you in developing portion size awareness.
Eating on a Budget –Learn how you can feed a family of four a nutritious meal on less than $20/day
Something for Everyone – Do you have picky eaters and often find yourself making a different meal for each person in your family? We will show you how you can make one meal for all of your family to enjoy.
